|6/13/13||Learned many techniques that helped me cope with situations that use to get me down. My life became simpler with his tools for organization so I am much happier. I managed to overcome a huge loss in my life using Dr. Fazzari’s coping methods. Troubling thoughts and situations were resolved when we’d talk.|
|5/15/13||Dr. David Fazzari was extraordinarily helpful to me at a time when I was in great need of help. When we first began our sessions, I was struggling to see the light at the end of a long tunnel that had been darkened by my own attention deficit disorder; my wife’s depression (untreated, at the time); and a host of other home- and work-related stresses?all of which, taken together, just seemed like too much to handle. Over the course of about six months, Dr. Fazzari, in his pleasantly low-key manner, shared different strategies for rethinking and reorganizing both my everyday, task-centered life and my private, interior, emotional life. Eventually we arrived at a point where I was able to take what I had learned in these sessions and use it to climb out of what had seemed, up until then, like a place from which I might never fully emerge. No intense Freudian analysis, no recovered-memory stuff: just very helpful tools and schematics for shaking me out of my sadness and helping me re-boot.|
|“Dear Dr. Fazzari,
I was a patient of yours seeking help for my phobia of needles and veins. You guided me through CBT so that I could complete a summer job training course that required being around needles.
Since our last appointment I have had so much more success with doctor appointments and medical situations. In fact, I completed the summer course successfully, secured an even better job, took an emergency medical course (where I injected an orange, administered fake epi pens and had my pulse taken by strangers), got my tetanus vaccine updated (finally), survived two EKGs and an ultrasound of my heart, and just last Friday finally had my blood taken. Yes, that’s right – I voluntarily got a blood test. I cannot tell you how relieved and excited I am to finally learn what blood type I am after 27 years of being terrified to even look at the veins in my arms. The world seems so much easier now.
Thank you so very much for helping me to overcome what was once such a debilitating phobia for me. You were right, CBT does work, but a doctor like yourself plays no small role in facilitating the success of the therapy. Please feel free to share my story and success with others. I hope that many others will come to you and find relief from their fears.”
